What it actually is
A turned chart — derived houses — changes which house you count from. Your seventh house is your partner; count it as their first, and your eighth house becomes their second, which is their money. Your fourth is a parent; turned, its tenth becomes their career.
⚠️ Nothing moves. This is the thing worth being clear about: no planet changes sign, no aspect changes, no angle shifts. The chart is identical — only the question changes. A turned chart is a way of reading, not a different calculation.
That is also why it is easy to overreach with. The technique gives you a way to ask about anyone connected to you, and the further you turn the more you are reading a stranger from your own chart. Traditional practice keeps it fairly close to home.

How Umbriel computes it
Nothing about the chart is recalculated. The wheel is re-read with a different house as the first, so your seventh house becomes your partner's first and everything is counted from there. ⚠️ The turned view is derived and never written back into the chart itself, which matters more than it sounds: the score, the dominants and the aspect list all read from the same underlying data, and a turn that mutated it would silently change every one of them.

What is a turned chart?
