The 11th House

Umbriel's community is named after the house of friends, groups and networks. It is a place to ask what something in your chart means, and to help somebody else read theirs. It is new and it is quiet, and this page would rather say so than sell you a room that is not there yet.

What it is for

Two things, mostly. Asking — you have a placement you cannot make sense of, and you would like a human rather than a paragraph of generated text. And answering — you can read a chart, and explaining one is the best way to get better at it.

The organising idea is that those are the same activity seen from two sides, and that the people who do the second well should be the easiest to find. So the reputation you build here by being useful is exactly what lifts a reader up the astrologer directory.

Reputation earned by helping, not by posting

Standing here is not a post count and it is not a follower count. It comes from being helpful — the interpretations other people found useful.

That is a deliberate choice against the shape most feeds take, where the reward is for volume and for being loud. Volume is easy to manufacture and tells a stranger nothing about whether you can read a chart.

You can be here without being exposed

People ask astrology questions about the most personal things in their lives — their marriage, their health, their family, their fear about a decision. That is difficult to do under your own name in a public place.

So: an account does not need your real name. Every account carries an @handle generated from its id — the same one every time, and not something another account can take, so somebody copying your display name does not get your identity with it.

⚠️ And a guard that exists because of what people share without meaning to: posts are scanned for birth details before they go up, and you are warned if you are about to publish the exact date, time and place of your birth to a public room. That is identity-adjacent information, and it is very easy to paste without thinking.

The safety layer, in specifics

Not a policy page — the actual mechanisms. Blocking is keyed to an account id rather than a name, so a block survives somebody renaming themselves. Posts are scanned for the shapes that scams take in this particular community, and both the reader and the poster are warned. External links carry a caution until an account has earned some trust. Reporting is available on every surface, not buried. Participation is 18+, though reading is open to anyone.

⚠️ Impersonation is the threat this was designed around first, and the reason is specific to astrology: this is a place where people hand over the exact time and place they were born, and where trust converts directly into someone paying for a reading.

What it is not, yet

It is small. A handful of accounts and very little posted. If you arrive expecting a busy forum you will be disappointed, and being told that here is better than finding out after signing up.

There is no private messaging yet, no video, and no payment in the app. Those are intended and they are not built. This page will be updated when that stops being true rather than before.
