Sun and Moon pairs
Your Sun is what you are building. Your Moon is what settles you when the day goes wrong. Most people are handed two different sets of instructions, and the interesting part is what happens between them.
There is a page for each of the 144 combinations, and each one carries a fact that comes from the pair rather than from either half: how far apart the two lights are fixes the phase of the Moon you were born under.

If you do not know your Moon sign yet
The Moon moves about thirteen degrees a day and changes sign every two and a half days, so a birthday on its own can hold two of them. A date, a time and a place settle it exactly, and a date alone settles it most of the time: the free calculator says “or” when it honestly cannot tell.
Why the pair says more than either half
A Sun sign describes what someone is aiming at. A Moon sign describes what they need in order to rest. Read apart, they are two tidy descriptions. Read together, they are a person with a plan and a private weather system that do not always agree, which is nearer to how anybody actually is.
And the distance between them is not decoration. The Sun and the Moon are the two brightest things in the sky, and the angle between them is the reason the Moon has a shape at night. Signs apart is degrees apart, degrees apart is days since the New Moon, and days since the New Moon is a phase you could have looked up at.
