What it actually is
Moon search answers questions of the form 'when is the next New Moon in my tenth house' or 'when was the Full Moon on my Venus' — the questions a calendar cannot answer because they depend on your chart as well as the sky.
Every event is found by solving for the exact moment the Moon reaches the required angle to the Sun, and reported to the minute. A New Moon is not a day, it is an instant, and the difference matters if you are timing anything by it.
⚠️ Search tools of this kind fail in a specific and quiet way. The Moon's angle to the Sun runs 0 to 360 and wraps, and a solver that does not handle the wrap does not crash — it returns extra results that look perfectly plausible. An early version of this reported 74 New Moons in three years when there were 37, and a list of dates gives you no way to tell. It is tested against the known count.
Add your birth details and each result is placed in your chart by house and by contact, which is usually the reason you were looking.
How Umbriel computes it
Each event is found by solving for the moment the Moon reaches an exact angle to the Sun, refined rather than stepped. ⚠️ The search wraps correctly across 0° — without that guard a circular root-finder does not fail loudly, it INVENTS results, and an early version of this reported 74 New Moons in three years where there were 37. A search tool that returns too many answers looks like a thorough one.

Common questions
When is the next New Moon?
Umbriel will tell you to the minute, along with its degree and sign, and where it falls in your chart if you have entered your birth details.
Can I search for a Full Moon on a specific degree?
Yes — that is what the tool is for. Searching for lunations that touch a particular point in your chart is the question a calendar cannot answer.
Do I need my birth details?
Not for the lunation dates themselves, which are the same for everyone. You need them to see which house each one falls in and what it touches.
How accurate are the times?
Each event is solved for rather than stepped to, so the times are exact to the minute rather than rounded to a day.
What is the difference between this and a moon phase calendar?
A calendar tells you the phases. This searches — you can ask for lunations that fall on a particular degree, in a particular house of your chart, or within any range you choose, which is not a question a calendar can answer.
Is the moon search free?
Yes — any range, with the chart placement, and no account.
