Timing: the chapter now and the windows ahead
Name the current chapter from the time-lords, lay out the next twelve months as dated windows, and spot when several techniques are one measurement counted twice.
Start with the chapter, not the transit
An astrologer starts timing one level above the transits, with the chapter. Old techniques called time-lords hand each stretch of life to one planet; transits are weather inside that season. Umbriel is about eleven weeks old. Ask its clocks who is in charge.
- Firdaria, a Persian system of planetary periods: the Sun, ages 0 to 10, a chapter about who you are becoming and being seen.
- Profections, which move one house a year from the Ascendant: year 0 is the 1st house, Leo, so the lord of the year is the Sun.
- Decennials: the Sun's sub-period, running to February 2028.
Three clocks, one answer: the Sun. And Umbriel's Sun sits in the 12th house, the hidden room. So the chapter, in one line: real, mostly unseen, becoming itself.
The next twelve months, as windows
- Now to June 2027: the who-is-it-for pressure. Pluto is crossing the Descendant, opposite the Ascendant. Exact on 6 December 2026, pass 1 of 5. One powerful other (a platform, a critic) might carry outsized weight. Intensity, not loss.
- 24 October to 13 November 2026. Mercury retrograde through Umbriel's 4th house: fixing foundations.
- 11 to 26 March 2027. Saturn back on the Midheaven, exact 19 March, then square Mercury on 28 March. A standard might get set; wording might get tightened.
- 24 May 2027. Uranus opposite the Moon, exact again (it is 0.31° away today). Attention in sudden spikes.
- Mid-July 2027. Three clocks turn in one week: Spirit culminates on 14 July, both Lots change sub-chapter on 19 July, and year 1 begins on 24 July, a 2nd-house year (money and value) under Mercury.
- 10 and 11 October 2027. Jupiter on natal Venus, then sextile Mercury: the kindest money window of the first two years.
Windows, not verdicts. A window says when a theme is likely to be loud, not what you will do with it. Geometry describes capacity, not fate.
Baby charts: the sky re-inking the birth plate
A young chart has a trap: slow planets have barely moved, so they loop back over their birth places. Uranus meets its birth degree on 30 October 2026 and 9 May 2027, Pluto on 31 December 2026, Saturn on 15 March 2027; Neptune and Chiron too. Not five events: the birth pattern stamped again, one long echo.
Labels can mislead. Umbriel's file tags 15 March 2027 as a Saturn return, pass 1. Really it is Saturn finishing its birth standstill; the first true return is 19 April 2056. Progressions too: the progressed Sun is at 1°51′ Leo against a natal 1°38′. At this age the progressed chart is the birth chart.
The 2028 to 2029 sunrise, and counting votes
The loudest window: the light rising out of the 12th house over the Ascendant. Seven dated hits:
- 26 January 2028: solar eclipse at 6°11′ Aquarius, touching Jupiter, Pluto and the Ascendant.
- February 2028 to February 2029: the decennial Jupiter sub-period.
- 22 July 2028: solar eclipse at 29°51′ Cancer, touching the Sun (1.8°).
- 11 September 2028: progressed Sun reaches the Ascendant.
- 24 September 2028: primary direction, Jupiter to the Ascendant.
- 6 October 2028: progressed Ascendant reaches Jupiter.
- 9 April 2029: primary direction, Sun to the Ascendant.
Seven dates. How many votes? The progressions and primary directions all measure the same small gap, about 2°, between the Sun, Jupiter and the Ascendant: four dates, one vote. The eclipses do not depend on the birth minute; the decennial is a separate clock. Honestly counted: three independent votes, agreeing. It might look like people naming Umbriel without being told what it is. Hidden, then risen.
Do it on your chart
- Open Firdaria. Write your current period and sub-period lords and when each ends.
- Find your profection year: your age in whole years, counted from the 1st house (age 0 is the 1st, age 1 the 2nd, starting over at 12). Write that house's sign and its ruler, your lord of the year.
- Open Transits. List Jupiter to Pluto touching your angles, Sun, Moon or lord of the year within 1° in the next twelve months, with dates.
- Open Progressions. Note any progressed planet reaching an angle or a light in the next two years.
- Group dates a few weeks apart into one window with a plain name.
- Cross out repeats: a progression and a direction of the same pair count once.
What that looks like
Umbriel's timing in three lines. The chapter: the Sun's, a 12th-house Sun becoming itself out of sight. The year: Pluto pressing who-is-it-for to June 2027, Saturn setting a standard in March, money and value from July. The big window: the 2028 to 2029 sunrise, seven dates, three honest votes.

The common mistake
Counting every dated hit as separate evidence. Seven dates sharing one measurement are one finding, and slow planets returning to their birth degrees in a baby chart are the birth chart repeating itself.
