◍ Free Astrocartography Map — Your Chart, Drawn on the World

Umbriel draws your astrocartography map free — every planet's rising, setting, overhead and underfoot lines across a world map. It takes your birth chart and asks where on Earth each planet would have been angular. You can also check a city — type any place and Umbriel lists which of your lines run near it and how far away they are, up to three cities side by side. Without a birth time it says so rather than drawing a map of noon.

What astrocartography actually is

Your chart is cast for one place. But the same moment, viewed from a different point on Earth, puts different planets on the horizon and the meridian. Astrocartography maps that: for each planet, four lines mark where it was rising (AC), setting (DC), at the top of the sky (MC) or the bottom (IC).

Each combination has a traditional reading. A Sun MC line is associated with visibility and recognition; a Venus AC line with ease and being met warmly; a Saturn line with weight and hard work. Living on or near a line is said to turn that planet's volume up.

This is where accurate birth time matters most of any tool on this list — the whole technique depends on the angles, and the angles move a degree every four minutes. A guessed time produces a map that's confidently wrong.

Take the interpretations lightly. Plenty of people have moved somewhere because a line looked good and found ordinary life waiting. A more useful way to hold it: notice which places you've already loved or struggled in, and see whether the map has anything to say about them. Evidence first, then the symbolism.

Common questions

What is astrocartography?

A technique that maps your birth chart onto the globe, showing where each planet would have been rising, setting, overhead or underfoot at the moment you were born. Developed in the 1970s by Jim Lewis.

Do I need an exact birth time?

Yes — more than for anything else here. The lines are built from the chart angles, which move about one degree every four minutes. An hour's error shifts lines by hundreds of miles.

Should I move to a good line?

That's a large decision to hand to a symbolic system. A gentler use is to look at places you've already lived or loved and see what the map says about those — then treat any new line as a question worth visiting, not an instruction.

Is the astrocartography map free?

Yes, no account needed.
