A hundred and fifty degrees: no shared element, mode or polarity, so the two cannot see each other directly. They work in turn, not together. One adjusts, then the other. Also called the inconjunct.

What the quincunx means
An aspect is the angle between two planets: how they talk to each other. At 150°, the quincunx is the aspect of two things that only ever operate in sequence, never at once. In a chart it's associated with adjustment, no common ground, working in turn, fine-tuning.
We call this one Adjustment, after what the angle does rather than how it is supposed to feel. Elsewhere you will see the quincunx called a “minor” or “inconjunct” aspect. Same geometry. Both words are worth having, and we would rather hand you the mechanism first and let you decide how it feels.
Why quincunxs work like that
A hundred and fifty degrees is five signs apart, and five signs apart is the only relationship in the zodiac that shares nothing whatever: different element, different mode, opposite polarity.
There is no common ground for the two to meet on. Which is why the quincunx neither resolves nor fights. It takes turns.
How close does it have to be?
About 3 degrees, and it needs every bit of that tightness. A wide quincunx is noise.
It is also the aspect most easily manufactured by a wrong birth time, so check the time before reading much into one.
Is it a good aspect or a bad one?
Called minor, and it is minor in the sense of small rather than unimportant. It is one of the more distinctive things to actually live with.
It has no good or bad version, because it has no shared ground to be good or bad on. Adjustment is the honest word for it.
How common is it?
Two places on the circle, so a chart often has one or two.
It is one of the quiet ones, and easy to read straight past.
